Support these hardworking dogs.

About B.A.R.K.

Brighton Resort typically has one or two dogs stationed at the top of the Crest 6 chairlift. Their training begins when they are puppies and continues throughout their careers so they will be ready when backcountry travelers are involved in an avalanche.

When an avalanche accident does occur, the dogs and their handlers can be requested by law enforcement agencies like the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office. A typical deployment has the dog and their handler load a helicopter at Brighton Resort's landing zone. They are then flown to the avalanche site to search for buried skiers, snowboarders, or snowmobilers.
